ear infections

Ear infections are no fun thing.  Unfortunately it seems our kids get them often. They can be very painful and sometimes we have no clue that our kids even have one.

I had an awesome thing happen today.  I took my youngest daughter to her well-baby check up this morning at the doctors office.  He said everything was looking good, she was finally growing (she had acid-reflux really bad, which we fixed with DigestZen) the only thing was that her ears were really waxy.  Normally he would just leave them be, but he couldn't see past the wax.  So he was worried, that maybe her hearing my be affected by the blockage.  He decided to clean out the wax.  Super fun....let me tell ya :)  Holding your daughter down to have someone stick a long stick down your daughters ear, is not my type of fun!

Anyways, after that was all cleaned up he looked down her ears again and was SHOCKED at what he saw.  Her ear was bright red inside(ummm ya you just had a stick down it!) and it was pussy.  He asked if she had been running a fever or sick the past couple of days.  She hadn't been and he was really surprised.

He said we should probably treat her with some antibiotics to help clear it up.  I told him, I don't think we will need it.  I can cure ear infections with my essential oils at home.  He stopped for a minute and was like "OK" well I am going to call in the prescription, just in case..... ha, ha!!

It feels soo EMPOWERING to know that I can take care of my kids and not have to fill that prescription and shove that yucky stuff down my daughters throat!  So, right now she has a cotton ball with Basil, Frankincense and Lavender in her ear.  I seriously love doTERRA Essential Oils!
